Choosing Colors

Segment 4: Types of Light

Did you know that the type of lighting in your house can have a great effect on how colors will look when painted on a wall? Here are 3 types of lighting and how they effect colors:

Direct Sunlight: Considered the ideal light source, natural sunlight maintains a neutral balance between the warm (yellow cast) and cool (blue cast) ends of the light spectrum. Northern light is the coolest, while light from a southern exposure is most intense. Direct sunlight provides the truest rendition of colors within a room.

Well, it has been a VERY busy year so far! I haven't done my job of updating this blog regularly, however we have lots of great pictures we are editing and will be posting very soon. Check back again!

Spring is here!

Well, spring is finally here and the work keeps coming! Having just finished a job in Stuyvesant, we are now starting on this beautiful home in historic Hudson. As a service for our out-of-town clients (we have quite a few) we are going to be posting pictures daily, so you can keep up with your job from wherever you are. If you are considering hiring us, you will get to see all that is involved in the process of delivering a paint job you can be proud of.

Happy New Year!

Happy 2014! As I take a day to work from home and watch all the snow fall from Winter Storm Hercules, I wanted to take a minute and thank all of our wonderful clients who became friends in 2013. We refinished the exteriors of four complete houses, one partial house, three decks, twenty-five interior rooms, and burned through countless brushes, roller covers, and gallons of paint. We thank the Lord for such a great first year in business and would like to thank all of our new clients and vendors for such a great experience. Praying for a healthy and profitable 2014 for us all!

Busy Days

Things have gotten very busy with Lawlor Family Painting. I know many of you have been waiting for updated pictures of recent jobs, however there just isn't enough time in the day. Soon they will come. Soon. :-)

LFP is now insured through Marshall & Sterling

LFP is now insured through Marshall & Sterling. Have you ever wondered what would happen if your painter dumped a gallon of that great new lime green color you chose for your walls onto your 18th century one-of-a-kind handcarved mahogany dining room table?
Well, with Lawlor Family Painting you no longer have to wonder. Why? Because we are insured through Marshall & Sterling Insurance Company of Leeds, NY for $1,000,000 in General Liability Insurance.
Sure, it is an added expense that the average "two guys, one brush" painting contractor isn't willing to dole out, but we believe you are worth it (and so is your antique dining room table).
